John has worked in IT since leaving Norwich City College in 1998. Before joining Breakwater in 2012, John was an IT Manager for a national recruitment agency looking after the infrastructure for the companies 30 sites. Prior to that, he spent 7 years looking after the systems of one the region’s largest legal firms. John has an extensive range of experience and enjoys working on Microsoft core products, Citrix and server Virtualisation.
In his spare time you can find John cycling to café’s around Norfolk searching for cake and chasing after his mischievous Labrador.
Kelly joined Breakwater in May 2011 as our Account Manager. Kelly works with our existing clients to ensure the smooth running of our partnerships. Kelly takes care of our Marketing, PR and Advertising, maintains our company website and SEO and is the voice behind our Social Media.
Prior to joining the Breakwater team Kelly worked in Procurement and Supply Chain for a national Glazing & Locks company for 2 years where she managed several categories of spend. Before that she spent 6 years with Virgin One/RBS where she had a number of roles, most recently as a Business Support Analyst where she sat within an IT team of over 100 based in Norwich, the role gave her a good introduction into the world of technology.
In her spare time Kelly enjoys travel, she spent 5 months travelling around Australia after leaving RBS in 2008 and is also a keen Norwich City supporter.
Kevin joined Breakwater IT in May 2012 as our Business Telecoms Manager to head up our expanding sales team. Kevin has 16 years business telecommunications experience with a national telecoms supplier having spent the last 8 years working solely with business clients in Norfolk and Suffolk. His experience is spread across the whole portfolio of services including fixed calls and lines, mobiles, telephone systems both traditional and VoIP, internet connectivity and wide area networking. Kevin will be responsible for managing our existing telecoms customers and devolving new business in the rapidly expanding area of Breakwater IT’s business.
Although Kevin is a Norwich City FC supporter, his loyalty is with the Norwich City Ladies football team as his daughter plays for this successful team which sits in the 3rd tier of the English league system.
James joined Breakwater in 2012 after working for a regional law form for the previous 10 years. There he looked after the IT infrastructure as well as the demands of the end users. James is interested in a range of technologies spanning Microsoft core products as well as open source platforms and solutions.
In his spare time James is a Norwich City football supporter and tries to get to the local games when his season ticket friends can spare the seat! James also volunteers for a community run radio station hosting his own show as well as teaching people how to use the studios and equipment.
Originally from the North East, Ian spent 23 years in the Royal Air Force working as an Electronics Technician on Airfield and Air Defence Radar systems, and also within the Telecommunications field. Ian completed the last 5 years of his service as an IT Network Administrator, notably gaining Microsoft MCSE and MCSA certifications. Leaving the Armed Forces in 2003, Ian joined the IT department of a major privately owned company within the Oil and Gas sector. Working as an IT Systems Engineer with management responsibility for the networks and data storage requirements of multiple survey vessels, Ian also gained valuable experience in remote vessel communications and bespoke IT network infrastructures.
Joining Breakwater in August 2012 as Infrastructure Engineer, Ian brings with him over 12 years of IT customer support experience and technical know-how.
In his spare time Ian spends many hours on the river on the Norfolk Broads, either on his narrow boat “Water Tiger” or with his newly found pastime of paddling his canoe. Also an avid motorcyclist, Ian recently fulfilled a dream of owning a classic-style Triumph Bonneville T100 A2 and touring the views of Scotland up and around Loch Lomond, the Isle of Skye, and Loch Ness.
Paul joined Breakwater in Jan 2012, he is a PRINCE2 Practitioner with 7 years experience in managing all the IT requirements for his previous local company which gives him a strong knowledge of server operating systems and hardware installations.
Outside of work he enjoys website and application development and amateur electronics.
Stuart who has previously worked for Breakwater back in May 2011 has once again joined the team in January 2013. He has spent the last year working at Lowestoft College gaining a great deal of experience upgrading the infrastructure from RM Network to Windows 2008R2 and Windows 7 Desktop.
Stuart first started working with BT Global Services after completing a degree in Computer Network Design at the University of Portsmouth.
Outside of work Stuart enjoys most of his spare time with his family and daughter, but still makes time to socialise with friends.
Stuart joined Breakwater in September 2012 as a Level 2 Service Desk Professional. Stuart has over 5 years of IT experience, this has been gained by supporting all aspects of IT for a local book printer in both office and manufacturing environments. Stuart was involved in the implementation of a site wide network refresh, including the installation of a new wireless network. Stuart worked as part of team dealing with any support issues that arose as well as providing preventative maintenance on all critical hardware. Stuart is currently studying towards an IT based degree with the Open University, this covers both the support and development aspects of IT. In his spare time Stuart enjoys playing the guitar as well as watching cricket and football.
Nick joined Breakwater in February 2013 as a Level 2 Service Desk Professional.
Nick started his IT Career with Norwich Union (now Aviva) in 1999 as a Service Support Analyst supporting Norwich Union in house systems and over a period of 10 years undertook other IT related roles as a Data Consultant for UKGI Pricing and Senior Technical Support Analyst (Build and Delivery Services) for Aviva UK IT Services.
Nick has also worked at Norfolk Constabulary as a Data Quality Consultant and most recently as an IT Field Technician for a small local IT Business supporting Primary Education establishments.
Nick is ITIL qualified in IT Service Management and is also a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCTS) in SCCM 2007.
In his spare time Nick is a devoted father to two small children, a keen video gamer and experienced rock/metal drummer.
Stephen joined Breakwater as a Level 2 Service Desk Professional in January 2013. His last role was as Information Security Officer at TSL Education, publishers of the Times Educational Supplement and other digital media resources in London where he successfully took the company through stage 2 of their information security certification.
Originally from London, Stephen has worked in the IT industry since 1999 with an operational IT support background in both large and small organisations such as the Ministry of Defence, Terrence Higgins Trust and Freshfields in London, as well as the Ministry of Justice in New Zealand. More recently Stephen has undertaken information assurance and data protection roles at the Houses of Parliament and Circle Housing Group.
Now settled in Norwich with his partner and two daughters, Stephen enjoys spending time with his family and friends up north and down in London. When hectic family life allows, he also enjoys photography, running and playing squash whenever he can.
Jack joined Breakwater in January 2013 after working in IT for over 6 years. Jack worked for the ISP PlusNet whilst living in Sheffield which was his first job in IT. Since then he has worked at Aviva, Virgin Money and May Gurney before joining us. Jack has experience in supporting software, hardware and servers, he has worked on large scale projects in the past and was the head technical resource for transition of the Service Desk following the acquisition of Northern Rock PLC by Virgin Money. IT is a passion of his and he is always looking to widen his knowledge of IT systems and Infrastructure.
In his spare time (in between being a father) Jack enjoys playing squash, swimming and going to the gym. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading and listening to music. Jack is currently studying for both CompTIA a+ and MCITP and hopes to have these qualifications by the end of this year.
Daniel joined Breakwater in July 2012 and is our Technical Engineer. He was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland before he came to England in 2006 looking for new challenges and more work opportunities.
Daniel has worked in IT for 3 years and during that time has gained lots of knowledge whilst both working and during his home studies. He is now a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician and a Microsoft Certified Professional. Daniel is also MCITP certified.
Daniels interest in IT started at an early age after his Grandad bought him an Amiga 600 when he was just 9 years old and he later decided to turn his hobby into his profession.
Outside of work Daniel is a very active person. He is learning Muay Thai currently and also enjoys playing Tennis, Horse Riding, and Running.
Amy joined breakwater in October 2012 and is our Client Support Agent. Amy has a strong customer service background spending four years working for large hotel chain, Premier Inn and more recently working within a Letting Agency in Norwich city centre.
Outside of work Amy enjoys baking cakes and spending time with her friends and family
Elizabeth joined Breakwater in August 2011 as an IT Trainee. She completed both level 2 and level 3 apprenticeship schemes with us.
Elizabeth is now a level 1 Service Desk Professional working alongside the other members of the Managed Services Team.
Elizabeth’s interest in computers started at an early age, inspired and supported by her father.
Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys going out with friends and family, building computers, and playing alto saxophone and piano.
