Backup and Imaging Service

Managed protection for systems and data

Available as an optional add-on service for customers with managed support, we offer a range of subscription-based backup solutions, deployed and maintained via our Kaseya Systems Management platform.

Kaseya Data Backup

For simple backup and recovery requirements Breakwater IT recommends deploying Kaseya Data Backup (KDB). Devices with KDB installed can backup file and folder data to Breakwater IT’s cloud storage platform located in The Gatehouse Data Centre in Norwich. Data is encrypted and compressed prior to being sent to the storage platform, and can be retrieved in a disaster scenario either via an alternative machine, or by our engineers directly from the Data Centre.

A local copy of the backup data can be stored onsite on a network location for operational recovery requirements (e.g. when an individual file / folder needs to be quickly restored without accessing the cloud storage platform). Backup data can be retained for up to a maximum of 120 days depending upon your archiving needs and local storage capacity.

Image-Based Backup

For more demanding recovery requirements Breakwater IT recommends deploying Kaseya Backup (KBU). KBU provides real-time automated disk remote backup, disk imaging, file level remote backup and bare metal restore for Windows servers and workstations. Unlike file-based only products, Kaseya Backup creates an image of the entire system state – including operating system, business applications, user settings, drivers and data – giving administrators the framework to completely rebuild a downed system in a few hours or less.

Backup data is stored onsite on a network location for operational recovery purposes, and retention can be customised to your archiving requirements with the only limitation being available storage capacity (perfect for businesses needing long retention periods). If required, the most recent backup can be automatically replicated offsite to Breakwater IT’s cloud storage platform located in The Gatehouse Data Centre in Norwich. In the event of a disaster affecting your office, the offsite image can be replicated to replacement equipment quickly to ensure that the business can get back up and running as fast as possible.
